I began attending Unity Church in my home town of Cincinnati, Ohio in the mid 90's.  Since that time, I have sought a Unity church in the three other cities in which I have lived.  I am grateful to have found Unity of Austin once settling in Austin.  While I grew up protestant, and had strong spiritual influences during my formative years, my greatest spiritual development occurred in my adult life as I was searching for greater meaning and spirituality in my everyday experiences.  Unity has been instrumental in facilitating my evolving, deepening, spiritual journey and I feel fortunate to have this experience at this time in my life. I have great appreciation and respect for those who have done so much to ensure that Unity of Austin is here and available.   

 

Since becoming a member of this church, I have had the opportunity to participate in the men's group, physically work with church members on projects related to the grounds and playground, participate in church social functions, and participate in classes offered by Rev. Shouse.  Through my participation, I have gained friends, grown spiritually, and developed a deep respect for the congregation.  My spiritual growth and development have lead me to want to contribute in a way that can sustain and further the vision of Unity of Austin.  I would like to offer and be considered for a trustee position of this church.  While I have no prior experience as a church trustee, I have life's experience, and a working career that has developed skills of collaboration, leadership, listening, community development, compassion, and humor.  I have a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and have participated in neighborhood and community associations.  Again, I would like to offer myself to work as a church trustee to help sustain and further the vision of this amazing spiritual church community, Unity of Austin.
