Sparkles – Faith Walking Into the New Year
For we walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7

A new year, new beginnings, new adventures, and a new Administration taking place in our government. Like many of you I have deep concerns about the path of our nation these next four years. I also know I have a choice in how I will walk through them. My intention is to faith walk into this year. What does that mean? I suppose it all depends on how you define faith, so let me start there.
“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1. Our Unity co-founder, Charles Fillmore, defines it as “Faith is the perceiving power of the mind linked with a power to shape substance”.
Faith is our power of perception, conviction, and expectancy. The power to make the possible real. It enables you to see things not as they are, but as they can be. There’s a factor of faith that is so helpful. It is not an abstract idea. Faith is a perceiving power that enables you to see what can be. How do you have real faith? If your faith is coming from that inner depth of your own awareness of God, you see beyond the appearances, you can see potential. You can see possibilities.
How do we faith walk? We choose it. We choose to walk by faith, and not by sight. And that doesn’t mean to cover our eyes or pretend or ignore all the challenges in this physical world do not exist and that we don’t have a responsibility in creating a better world. It means walking in the consciousness of God and projecting that energy in creative and meaningful ways that create a better world for all of us.
Love, Light, & Sparkles,
Rev. Carol
