What Is The Wind Saying? By Janice Goodsell, Spirit Writer
I have always enjoyed the wind far more often than not. In this world of duality, every
light has its shadow, every positive its negative, and yes, I was once caught in a
blizzard. In an innocent-appearing field in Colorado Springs, my daughter and I set out
on a short walk to our next shopping site, when all of a sudden and without warning, the

wind blew snow in our faces so fiercely we could barely breathe. The winds said:
“Respect my power and accept the challenge when caught in circumstances beyond
your control.” So I would choose to never be in a blizzard again, even for 15 minutes,
but I still love the wind.
The wind talks to all of us if we slow down enough to listen. The wind says, “I am
magical. Come play with me. Come walk on the trail through the woods, and I will cool
your sweated brow.”
She says, “Walk through your garden and I will bring you the scent of passionflowers
and jasmine.” When I am bored, she says, “Come follow me, and I will take you on an
adventure.”
At nighttime, she says, “Open your window and I will sing a lullaby through the leaves of
your trees to make you fall into a peaceful, sweet slumber.”
Like spirit and energy, wind cannot be seen, but we see it move through the landscape,
hear it whistle around buildings, and feel it on our faces. Wind is a force of nature. Let
yourself be enchanted the next time you feel its kiss. Whisper your wish to the wind and
let it carry your voice to the sky.
